The Run
Law Enforcement Torch Run
The Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR) encompasses a number of events and fundraising initiatives throughout the year including Tip-A-Cops, Polar Plunges and more. At its core is the Run itself.
The Run is a running event in which law enforcement personnel and Special Olympics athletes carry the Flame of Hope to the Opening Ceremony of local, regional and even international competitions. Law enforcement agencies raise funds and work together to run the Flame of Hope through the streets of their respective communities while raising awareness for Special Olympics.
The Run to
SUMMER GAMES
Thousands of law enforcement personnel participate in the Northern California Torch Run each year in June. The Final Leg arrives at the much anticipated Opening Ceremony.
Running in the Final Leg Torch Run was one of the greatest experiences of my life. I enjoy all of my special friendships with law enforcement and the athletes.

The Run to Opening Ceremony in June
In Northern California, the Torch Run takes place annually in the month of June and culminates at the Opening Ceremony for our largest competition of the year: the Special Olympics Northern California Summer Games. The Summer Games also includes the Parade of Athletes through the Law Enforcement Wall of Honor and law enforcement personnel awarding athletes with medals throughout the weekend.
